This MIT GPA calculator finds your MIT Manipal semester GPA by sharing the credit points you earned across the credits you took, where each course's credit points are its credits times the grade point on your grade sheet; a semester of 158 points on 18 credits is a GPA of 8.78. For percentage, a Manipal University Senate decision for MIT's credit based programmes sets aggregate percentage marks at CGPA x 10, so a CGPA of 8.27 reads as 82.7 percent.
MAHE grades on a 10 point relative scale, and we have not verified the letter table, so you pick the grade point exactly as printed rather than a letter. The MAHE examination section remains the authority for any certificate.

CGPA uses the same sum over every semester so far. The x 10 rule is reported from a MAHE Senate decision and applies to MIT Manipal credit based programmes.
Using the MIT GPA calculator step by step
The scale is preset to MIT Manipal, with grade points from 10 down in half steps and 0 for a fail. Each row takes a course: credits, then the point. You may name the course to keep track.
The panel returns the GPA to two decimals, the credit total, the points total and the CGPA x 10 percentage. On the second tab, enter semester GPAs with their credits, and the panel returns a credit weighted CGPA. That is the right way to merge semesters with unequal loads, which is common once electives and projects come in.
If you only have letters on a provisional result, find the point for each letter in the legend printed on the grade sheet or in your programme regulations before typing.
- Open your MIT Manipal grade sheet for the semester.
- Enter each course's credits and the numeric grade point in the calculator.
- Read the semester GPA.
- In the semester tab, add each GPA with its credits for the CGPA.
- Multiply the CGPA by 10 for the aggregate percentage.
Worked MIT Manipal GPA
| MIT course | Cr | Point on sheet | Cr x point |
|---|---|---|---|
| Mathematics III | 4 | 10 | 40 |
| Digital System Design | 4 | 9 | 36 |
| Data Structures | 3 | 8 | 24 |
| Object Oriented Programming | 3 | 9 | 27 |
| Principles of Management | 3 | 7 | 21 |
| Data Structures Lab | 1 | 10 | 10 |
Credits = 18 and credit points = 158, so the GPA = 158 / 18 = 8.78.
MIT Manipal CGPA calculator example
Semester 3: 158 credit points on 18 credits (GPA 8.78). Semester 4: 181 credit points on 23 credits (GPA 7.87).
CGPA over the two = (158 + 181) / (18 + 23) = 339 / 41 = 8.27. Percentage = 8.27 x 10 = 82.7.
A straight mean of 8.78 and 7.87 would read 8.33 (8.325 before rounding), which flatters you because the lighter semester was the stronger one.
Your official CGPA covers every semester from the first, so add all of them, not just two.

Copies of a Manipal University Senate decision state that, for all credit based programmes of MIT Manipal, aggregate percentage marks equal CGPA x 10. We treat this as likely rather than confirmed, as we read copies and not a current MAHE page. For a certificate, apply to the MAHE examination section.

Relative grading at MAHE, in brief
MAHE has graded on a relative 10 point scale for a long time. Your letter depends on where your marks fall against the class, so the same marks can map to different grades in two sections or two years. That is why a marks to GPA prediction before results is only a rough guess.
Once the grade sheet is out, the grade points are fixed, and the GPA calculation itself is plain arithmetic. That is the part this calculator handles.
MIT WPU, MIT ADT and other MITs
Many students search for MIT WPU CGPA to percentage or MIT ADT CGPA to percentage. MIT World Peace University and MIT Art, Design and Technology University in Pune are separate universities, not part of MAHE, and the Manipal Senate rule does not apply to them. Check the conversion clause in your own university's regulations or ask its exam section; meanwhile our conversion page puts the usual rules side by side, and that is also where an MIT WPU CGPA to percentage formula search usually ends until the university letter arrives.
MIT Manipal GPA mistakes
| Slip | Effect | Fix |
|---|---|---|
| Converting letters from memory | The GPA drifts from the official one | Type the number on the sheet |
| Missing a one credit lab | Credits too low, GPA slightly off | Count every course row |
| Mixing up GPA and CGPA | Wrong figure on a form | GPA is one semester, CGPA is cumulative |
| Applying x 9.5 | Under reports by up to half a mark per point | Use x 10 for MIT Manipal |
VIT and SRM also write x 10 into their regulations; their pages are VIT grades and SRM grades. For combining semester results in general, the SGPA to CGPA page explains credit weighting.
Questions students ask
How is GPA calculated at MIT Manipal?
Each course yields credits times its point. The semester GPA is the sum of those over the credits registered that term. A semester with 158 credit points on 18 credits gives 8.78.
How do I convert MIT Manipal CGPA to percentage?
Multiply by 10. A Manipal University Senate decision sets aggregate percentage marks at CGPA x 10 for MIT's credit based programmes. The examination section issues certificates.
Does the MIT CGPA calculator work for MIT WPU?
The arithmetic for GPA and CGPA is the same, but MIT WPU is a separate university in Pune. Its percentage rule comes from its own regulations, not from MAHE.
Why does the tool want numbers in place of letter grades?
The MAHE letter table is not something we could check in its regulations. Typing the printed point keeps the result exact.
What is the difference between GPA and CGPA at Manipal?
GPA covers one semester. CGPA covers every semester so far, weighted by credits.
