The Saveetha CGPA calculator above works out a credit weighted average: every course contributes credits times the point shown against it on your SIMATS grade sheet, and the sum is spread over the credits you carried. Four courses of 4, 3, 3 and 4 credits with points 10, 9, 8 and 7 give 40 + 27 + 24 + 28 = 119 points over 14 credits, an SGPA of 8.50.
We have not verified the SIMATS letter grade table or any official CGPA to percentage rule, which is why you type the number beside each grade instead of choosing a letter. For a percentage on a job or higher studies form, get the conversion rule or certificate from the SIMATS examination office.

SGPA = sum(credits x grade point) / sum(credits)
For CGPA, use every course of every semester, or weight each semester SGPA by its credits. Both give the same answer.
How to fill in the Saveetha CGPA calculator
The grade box offers points from 10 down to 4 in half point steps, plus 0 for a fail. That covers every 10 point scale in use, whatever letters your school prints. Copy the number, not the letter.
- Credits: the credit value beside each course code.
- Grade point: the numeric point for the grade you got. If your sheet prints only letters, the legend at the bottom or the programme handbook gives the points.
- Semester tab: enter the SGPA of each semester and the credits registered for it.
The output side lists the average to two decimals, the credit and point totals behind it, and a percentage line worked out with CGPA x 10. That line is shown only as one option, as explained below.
- Open your SIMATS grade sheet and find the credit and grade point columns.
- In the calculator, add a row for each course with credits and the printed grade point.
- Read the SGPA, credits counted and credit points.
- For CGPA, switch tabs and enter each semester SGPA with its credits.
- Ask the exam office which rule to use before writing a percentage on a form.
SIMATS SGPA worked out
| Course | Credits | Point printed | Product |
|---|---|---|---|
| Data Structures | 4 | 10 | 40 |
| Operating Systems | 3 | 9 | 27 |
| Discrete Mathematics | 3 | 8 | 24 |
| Computer Networks | 4 | 7 | 28 |
| Web Technology | 2 | 9 | 18 |
| Networks Lab | 1 | 10 | 10 |
Credits = 17. Products add up to 147. SGPA = 147 / 17 = 8.65.
This same method suits a Saveetha CGPA calculator for CSE, ECE or any branch, because only the credits and points change.
From SGPA to SIMATS CGPA
Semester 1: 147 points on 17 credits (SGPA 8.65). Semester 2: 164 points on 21 credits (SGPA 7.81).
CGPA = (147 + 164) / (17 + 21) = 311 / 38 = 8.18.
Taking the plain mean of 8.65 and 7.81 would give 8.23, which overstates the result because the weaker semester carried four more credits.
If a course was failed and cleared later, your grade sheet shows how SIMATS records it. Follow the sheet: enter whatever grade and credits it counts in the CGPA.
Saveetha CGPA to percentage: options, not a rule
We found no SIMATS document that fixes a CGPA to percentage formula. Universities without a published rule are usually converted in one of three ways by the colleges or employers that receive the marks. The table shows how far apart they land.
| CGPA | x 10 | x 9.5 | (CGPA - 0.75) x 10 |
|---|---|---|---|
| 6.20 | 62.0 | 58.9 | 54.5 |
| 6.80 | 68.0 | 64.6 | 60.5 |
| 7.40 | 74.0 | 70.3 | 66.5 |
| 7.90 | 79.0 | 75.05 | 71.5 |
| 8.18 | 81.8 | 77.71 | 74.3 |
| 8.60 | 86.0 | 81.7 | 78.5 |
| 9.10 | 91.0 | 86.45 | 83.5 |
| 9.60 | 96.0 | 91.2 | 88.5 |
For a CGPA of 8.18 the answers run from 74.3 to 81.8 percent. Do not pick the highest and hope. Write to the SIMATS controller of examinations for a conversion certificate, or use whatever rule the receiving body states in its notice. The university's figure is the final one.
Saveetha Engineering College versus SIMATS
Two different institutions share the Saveetha name. SIMATS, the deemed university, sets its own grading. Saveetha Engineering College sits under Anna University, and the grading PDFs we found for it describe relative grading under Regulation 2019 and Regulation 2021.
Any Saveetha college CGPA calculator search from that campus should end at our Anna University grade tool and the Anna University conversion page, where the x 10 rule is published.
Errors in SIMATS CGPA working
| Pitfall | Result | Remedy |
|---|---|---|
| Guessing points from a letter | Your SGPA will not match the sheet | Copy the numeric point printed |
| Missing a one credit lab | Total credits too low | Count every row on the sheet |
| Presenting the x 10 line as SIMATS policy | A recruiter may question it | Attach the exam office certificate |
| Simple average of SGPAs | Skewed when credit loads differ | Give each SGPA its credits |
Other Saveetha and university tools
Attendance matters as much as grades at SIMATS, so keep the Saveetha attendance calculator handy through the term. To see one CGPA under every rule in a dropdown, our main conversion page lists them all. Among private universities in Tamil Nadu, SRM IST does publish a rule, CGPA x 10, in its regulations; compare it on the SRM page. If you are applying abroad, a foreign university will want the SIMATS transcript itself, not a converted figure from any website.
Questions students ask
What is the method for SIMATS CGPA?
Weight each printed grade point by its course credits, sum over all semesters, and divide by every credit taken. Enter credits and points in the tool and it shows each step.
How do I convert Saveetha University CGPA to percentage?
No official SIMATS formula was found. Options in use are CGPA x 10, CGPA x 9.5 and (CGPA minus 0.75) x 10. Get a conversion certificate from the SIMATS examination office.
Why does the SIMATS CGPA calculator ask for points instead of letters?
We could not verify the SIMATS letter grade table, and copying the printed point avoids a wrong guess. The result is then exactly as accurate as your grade sheet.
Is Saveetha Engineering College CGPA the same as SIMATS?
No. Saveetha Engineering College is an Anna University affiliated college, so its scale comes from Anna University, and our Anna University page fits it better.
Does this work for Saveetha CSE students?
Yes. Any branch works, since the calculation only needs credits and grade points from your sheet.
