Plus One Percentage Calculator for Science, Commerce and Humanities

BoardsPlus OneAll streamsChecked Nov 2026

A plus one percentage calculator takes your total score, divides it by the total maximum printed on the mark list and multiplies by 100, so 497 out of 600 is 82.83 percent. With grades only, add the grade points and divide by 9 times the number of subjects: 49 points across six subjects is about 90.74 percent, an estimate.

Plus One is the first year of the Kerala higher secondary course, and its scores later feed into the Plus Two total. The calculator above works for science, commerce and humanities, and for Class 11 mark lists from other boards that print marks.

Plus One % = total score / total maximum on the mark list x 100

For a grade only estimate, replace the scores with grade points and the maximum with 9 for each subject.

Using the plus one percentage calculator

This works as a plus one percentage calculator for Kerala and accepts either scores or grade points. Rename the six starting rows to your own subjects. Type the score in Marks and the maximum from your mark list in Out of. If the list shows theory and practical or CE separately, add them first and add their maximums too.

For a grade only list, enter the points (A+ is 9, A is 8, B+ is 7, down to E at 1), with 9 as the maximum for every row. Keep best five unticked, since a Plus One figure normally covers every subject. You can ignore the CGPA row under the result.

  1. Open your Plus One mark list.
  2. Type each subject's score and the maximum shown for it.
  3. If only grades appear, type each grade point with 9 as the maximum.
  4. Leave best five unticked.
  5. Read the percentage and note whether it is exact or estimated.

Plus One scores and the maximum to use

Plus Two totals of 1200 (200 a subject) lead many students to assume Plus One works the same way. It is not: the 200 per subject figure combines the first and second year. A Plus One mark list on its own may show a different maximum per subject, and the figure depends on the subject and its practical or CE part. This site does not hold a confirmed per subject maximum for Plus One, so use the one printed on your list.

Suppose your Plus One list shows a total of 497 out of 600.

497 / 600 x 100 = 82.83 percent.

Plus one percentage calculator with grade

If you have only grades, the result can only be an estimate. Use the nine point higher secondary scale below, which the Plus Two page lists in full, and confirm the bands against the scale printed on your own list.

Commerce grades: A, A+, B+, A, A, A+.

Grade points = 8 + 9 + 7 + 8 + 8 + 9 = 49. Estimate = 49 / 54 x 100 = about 90.74 percent.

For seven subjects, divide by 63 instead of 54. Do not use the 1.11 factor; it assumes ten subjects.

Science, commerce and humanities

The arithmetic is identical for every stream. Only the subjects change. A science student might enter Physics, Chemistry, Maths or Biology and Computer Science with English and a second language. A commerce student would enter Accountancy, Business Studies and Economics, and a humanities student History, Political Science, Economics or Sociology. Whatever you study, enter each subject once with its score and maximum.

Class 11 students from other boards can use the same calculator for school exam marks. Type the marks and maximums shown on your report card.

Questions students ask

How is a plus one percentage worked out?

Add the scores of all subjects, divide by the total maximum printed on the mark list and multiply by 100. Scores of 497 out of 600 work out to 82.83 percent.

How do I find plus one percentage with grades?

Swap every grade for its point value, then put the sum over 9 times the number of subjects and multiply by 100. For six subjects, 49 points give about 90.74 percent. This is an estimate, not an official figure.

Is plus one out of 1200 like plus two?

No. The 1200 total for six subjects combines both years. For Plus One alone, use the maximum printed on that mark list.

Does the plus one percentage calculator work for commerce?

Yes. Commerce, science and humanities all use the same arithmetic. Only the subject names change.

Does this +1 mark percentage calculator work for a +1 result outside Kerala?

Yes, when the mark list prints marks. Enter each subject and its maximum and the tool gives total over maximum, times 100. The grade point method applies only to grade only lists such as Kerala's.

Do plus one marks count in the plus two result?

Yes. Kerala higher secondary scores combine the first year and second year exams, so your Plus One performance is part of the final Plus Two total.

Is there a rule for the plus one improvement exam?

Rules on improvement and pass conditions are set in the DHSE notification for each session. Check the current notification rather than relying on older advice.
