RTMNU CGPA to Percentage: Nagpur University Calculator

UniversitiesNagpur UniversityRule not confirmedBoth directionsChecked Nov 2026

RTMNU CGPA to percentage has no university wide rule we could confirm: aggregator sites say CGPA x 10, while at least one autonomous engineering college affiliated to Nagpur University publishes (CGPA - 0.75) x 10 for its own students, so a CGPA of 8.15 sits somewhere between 74 and 81.5 percent. Which one applies depends on who issued your grade card, and only that body can give the official number.

The calculator above shows x 10 first and lists the other readings next to it. Below you will find a table in both directions, a worked example, and the questions to ask your college or the RTMNU examination section.

Options: CGPA x 10 | (CGPA - 0.75) x 10 | CGPA x 9.5

Use the CGPA from your final RTMNU or autonomous college grade card. None of these options is confirmed as the RTMNU rule; the right one is the rule printed by whoever issued your result.

Why RTMNU CGPA to percentage hinges on the issuer of your result

RTMNU, the state university in Nagpur, conducts exams for its affiliated colleges, but several colleges in its area are autonomous. An autonomous college sets its own exams, grading and, often, its own conversion rule. That is why you see two different answers for the same question online.

  • Grade card from an autonomous college: follow that college's academic rules. One such engineering college in Nagpur publishes (CGPA - 0.75) x 10, and that rule is its own, not the university's.
  • Grade card from RTMNU: we did not find a university ordinance fixing a conversion. Aggregators quote CGPA x 10, but none cites a source.

So before you convert, look at the header of your grade card. It tells you whose rule matters.

  1. Check who issued your grade card: RTMNU or an autonomous college.
  2. If it is an autonomous college, read its academic rules or ask its exam cell.
  3. If it is RTMNU, look on the grade card for a printed conversion note.
  4. Enter your CGPA above to see each reading while you wait for an answer.
  5. Use the figure in the official reply, and keep that letter safe.

What to enter in the Nagpur University CGPA calculator

Type the CGPA from your final grade card, such as 8.15. The headline result uses x 10. The list beside it shows minus 0.75 (it appears beside an older VTU scheme, which uses the same rule), x 9.5 (CBSE) and a few other rules. If your autonomous college has confirmed minus 0.75, choose that rule in the dropdown so the big figure matches it.

9.0590.58385.98

The minus 0.75 column trails x 10 by exactly 7.5 points at every CGPA. The x 9.5 column sits in between.

RTMNU percentage to CGPA for common cut offs

Nagpur University CGPA to percentage conversion in reverse: CGPA needed for each target
Target percentagex 10(CGPA - 0.75) x 10x 9.5
555.56.255.79
606.06.756.32
656.57.256.84
707.07.757.37
757.58.257.89

Under the minus 0.75 option you need 0.75 more CGPA for every target. If your autonomous college uses that rule and a recruiter asks for 60 percent, a CGPA of 6.5 will not be enough.

Worked example from a Nagpur engineering grade card

Final CGPA: 8.15.

x 10: 8.15 x 10 = 81.5 percent.

Minus 0.75: 8.15 - 0.75 = 7.4, and 7.4 x 10 = 74 percent.

x 9.5: 8.15 x 9.5 = 77.425, so about 77.43 percent.

If this grade card came from an autonomous college that uses minus 0.75, the student writes 74 percent. If it came from RTMNU, the student asks the university and, until then, writes the CGPA with a note that no conversion is printed.

Getting the official figure in Nagpur

  1. Read the reverse of the grade card and the passing certificate for a printed formula.
  2. Ask your college exam cell. Autonomous colleges often print the rule in their academic regulations.
  3. For RTMNU results, apply to the university examination section for a conversion or equivalence letter, paying any small fee listed.
  4. Use the figure from that letter everywhere, including job portals and higher education forms.

Our conversion certificate guide explains how such letters are used. For a Maharashtra comparison, see the SPPU band rule and the Mumbai University page.

Questions students ask

What is the RTMNU CGPA to percentage formula?

No university wide RTMNU formula could be traced to an ordinance. Aggregators quote x 10, and one autonomous college in the Nagpur area publishes (CGPA - 0.75) x 10 for its own students. Ask the body that issued your grade card.

How to convert a Nagpur University CGPA into percentage in practice?

If you want to convert CGPA to percentage RTMNU style, enter the CGPA above to see each option, then confirm the rule with the exam cell of your college or with the RTMNU examination section. Use their figure on forms.

Is there an RTMNU CGPA to percentage conversion certificate?

You can ask the university examination section for a conversion or equivalence letter. Autonomous colleges issue their own. Either one carries more weight than an online estimate.

Which CGPA gives 60 percent at RTMNU?

Under x 10 you need 6.0. Under the minus 0.75 option you need 6.75. Under x 9.5 you need about 6.32.

Why do two Nagpur colleges convert the same CGPA differently?

Autonomous colleges can set their own rules, while affiliated colleges follow the university. Two students with the same CGPA can therefore end up with figures 7.5 points apart.

Can I use this Nagpur University CGPA to percentage calculator for SGPA?

It will convert any number out of 10, but forms usually want the final CGPA. Work that out from your SGPAs first.
