A plus two percentage calculator divides your total score by the maximum and multiplies by 100; for six subjects combining both years the maximum is usually 1200, so 1101 out of 1200 is 91.75 percent. If you only have grades, an estimate is total grade points x 100 / 54, which is not an official method.
The calculator above handles both. This page sets out the grade scale, a chart for grade points, examples for science and commerce, and why the popular 1.11 shortcut fails for Plus Two.

The total maximum is often 1200 (six subjects of 200, first and second year combined), but it depends on your subject combination, so add the maximums on your own sheet.
How to use the plus two percentage calculator with grade or scores
If you have scores: type each subject's total score in Marks and its maximum in Out of. For a subject scored out of 200 across both years, type 200. Six rows are ready; rename them to your subjects.
If you have only grades: put each grade point in the Marks box (9 for A+, 8 for A and so on), with 9 as its maximum. The result is then total grade points over 54, times 100.
Leave best five off, because forms want the Plus Two figure across every subject. Skip the CGPA row the tool shows; it is a CBSE idea that does not fit Kerala.
- Check whether your mark list shows scores or only grades.
- For scores, enter each subject's combined score and maximum.
- For grades, convert each to its grade point.
- Enter grade points as marks with 9 as the maximum.
- Note whether your result is exact or an estimate.
Where Plus Two scores come from
A Kerala higher secondary score combines the first year (Plus One) and second year exams with continuous evaluation and practical marks where a subject has them. For a standard six subject combination, that gives a common maximum of 1200, or 200 per subject. Other combinations can total differently, so add the maximums printed on your own mark list rather than assuming 1200.
For the first year result on its own, use the Plus One percentage calculator.
Grade scale for Plus Two
The same nine point scale runs through Kerala higher secondary results.
| Grade | Score band | Grade point |
|---|---|---|
| A+ | 90 to 100 percent | 9 |
| A | 80 to 89 | 8 |
| B+ | 70 to 79 | 7 |
| B | 60 to 69 | 6 |
| C+ | 50 to 59 | 5 |
| C | 40 to 49 | 4 |
| D+ | 30 to 39 (minimum pass) | 3 |
| D | 20 to 29 | 2 |
| E | below 20 | 1 |
D+ is the minimum pass grade. Rules can change between sessions, so check the current DHSE notification for the latest pass conditions.
Worked examples: plus two commerce percentage calculator and science grades
Commerce, with scores. English 176, second language 182, Business Studies 188, Accountancy 194, Economics 171, Computer Applications 190, each out of 200.
Total = 1101. Percentage = 1101 / 1200 x 100 = 91.75 percent.
Science, grades only. A+, A, A+, B+, A, A+.
Grade points = 9 + 8 + 9 + 7 + 8 + 9 = 50. Estimate = 50 / 54 x 100 = about 92.59 percent.
The 1.11 shortcut would give 50 x 1.11 = 55.5, which is plainly wrong for a student with mostly A grades.

Slips to avoid with Plus Two figures
Plus Two results are easy to misread because grades, scores and two years sit on one page.
| Slip | Result | Remedy |
|---|---|---|
| Using total grade points x 1.11 | That factor was made for ten SSLC subjects; with six it badly understates | Use x 100 / 54, or better, the scores |
| Dividing second year scores by 1200 | 1200 combines both years for six subjects | Match the maximum to the scores you added |
| Assuming every combination totals 1200 | Totals depend on the subject combination | Add the maximums printed on your own sheet |
| Calling a grade estimate your percentage | Grades hide the real score inside a band | Label it as estimated |
| Leaving out CE or practical | The subject score includes them | Enter the full subject score |
Which figure to write on a form
Where a form asks for a marks percentage and your mark list prints scores, use the score based figure. If you only have grades, write the grades, or write the estimate and mark it as estimated. Never present a grade point estimate as exact marks.
For engineering cut offs and other Class 12 calculations, see the 12th percentage calculator. For the Class 10 result, use the SSLC percentage calculator. For other boards, start at the marks percentage calculator.
Questions students ask
What is the method for a plus two percentage?
If your mark list shows scores, add them, divide by the total maximum (often 1200) and multiply by 100. 1101 out of 1200 is 91.75 percent. With grades only, total grade points x 100 / 54 gives a rough estimate.
What is the plus two grade to percentage formula?
There is no official one. The common estimate is total grade points / 54 x 100 for six subjects, since each subject's top grade point is 9. Label any such figure as an estimate.
Why is the 1.11 method wrong for plus two?
1.11 is 100 / 90, which fits ten SSLC subjects with a maximum of 90 grade points. Plus Two usually has six subjects and a maximum of 54, so the factor should be 100 / 54.
Is plus two percentage calculated out of 1200?
Often, yes: six subjects of 200, combining the first and second year exams. Some combinations total differently, so add the maximums shown on your own mark list.
Will this HSE percentage calculator handle commerce or humanities?
Yes. The arithmetic is the same for every stream. Enter your own subjects with their scores and maximums.
Is this +2 mark percentage calculator only for Kerala?
No. Any plus 2 percentage calculator gives the same answer when your mark sheet prints marks: total over maximum, times 100. Only the grade point estimate on this page is specific to the Kerala nine point scale.
Is there a plus two CGPA calculator?
No CGPA appears on a Kerala Plus Two certificate. Averaging grade points (50 / 6 = 8.33) gives a number on a 9 point scale, which is not an official CGPA. Report the grades or the score based percentage.
What is the minimum pass grade in plus two?
D+ is the minimum pass grade, covering the 30 to 39 percent band. Check the current DHSE notification for the latest rules.
